The samithi was started in 1980 and many had suspected the survival of an organisation whose members are competing with each other. But setting aside all skepticisms, KVVES has grown to becomet the largest single organization of Traders and Industrialists in the world with over 20 lakh members.

25th State conference of the Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samithi (KVVES) was held at Ernakulam on 1st April 2006. Overs 10,000 delegates from all over the State participated in the two-day meeting. More than 3,00,000 members participated in a grand rally and a public meeting held at the Marine Drive. Union Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi inaugurated the meeting.

Kerala Vyapari Vyavasayi Ekopana Samithi has committed Rs. 500 crores for development projects and welfare schemes to be implemented as part of the silver jubilee celebrations
